If you would like to establish a new residential account with Ouachita Electric Cooperative, please complete the application below.


When applying for electric service, we require a $15 membership fee and a $15 connect fee. The membership fee establishes you as a member-owner of Ouachita Electric Cooperative.

In addition, a security deposit may be charged. Call our business office toll free at 877-252-4538 to determine the deposit amount required. Interest paid on deposits is determined by the Arkansas Public Service Commission and applied to bills annually. The Member shall pay the membership fee to become a member of the Cooperative and be bound by the provisions of the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws of Ouachita Electric Cooperative and by such Rules and Regulations as may, from time to time, be adopted by Ouachita Electric. A non-refundable service charge shall be paid on all service connects in the amounts shown on the Cooperative’s schedule of Charges and Deposits on file with the Arkansas Public Service Commission.

      Operation Round Up
      Funds are raised by “rounding up” monthly energy bills to the next whole dollar. On average, each member contributes about $6 a year. Grants are awarded to needy families and worthy community service projects for basic needs related to food, shelter, medical, clothing, education and the environment.

      I understand the terms and conditions as outlined below and applicable By Laws of Ouachita Electric Cooperative. By submitting this application request, I also agree that a credit check may be submitted, if necessary, to determine if a security deposit is required. A one time $15.00 membership fee applies.


      1. The Applicant will pay to the Cooperative with the Application a membership fee of $15.00 and a service charge of $15.00. The membership fee shall be refunded, if Applicant's membership is not accepted by the Cooperative, and any portion of said membership fee not applied to the payment of bills due the Cooperative shall be refunded to the Applicant after termination of service. The account service charge shall be non-refundable. A Security Deposit shall be held and distributed in accordance with the Service Rules and Regulations. Applicant hereby grants the Cooperative a security interest in any deposits made by Applicant with the Cooperative and any capital credits that may be payable at any time. The Cooperative is authorized to exercise its rights thereunder and apply any such capital credits to any unpaid indebted ness from Applicant to the Cooperative.


      2. The Applicant will comply with and be bound by the provisions of the Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws and Rules and Regulations now in effect and as may from time to time be adopted by the Cooperative. The Bylaws and the Rules and Regulations provide for but are not limited to Paragraphs 3, 4, and 5 below. These paragraphs are included for emphasis. The Applicant acknowledges receipt of a copy of the Bylaws.


      3. The Applicant shall, when electric energy becomes available and the meter installed, purchase from the Cooperative all central station electric energy used on the premises and will pay therefore monthly at such rates as ma y be fixed from time to time by the Board of the Cooperative. Applicant will pay at least the minimum monthly charge specified in the applicable rate for Applicant’s service.


      4. The member (applicant) agrees to allow the Cooperative to perform necessary right-of-way clearing. Upon request of the Cooperative based upon reasonable terms and conditions, to grant to the Cooperative one or more right-of-way easements for extending and furnishing service to the applicant or any other cooperative member or for any other need of the cooperative in constructing, operating, and maintaining its electric system.


      5. The Cooperative's identified employees shall have the right of access to member's premises at all reasonable times for the purpose of reading meters, testing. repairing, removing, maintaining or exchanging any or all equipment or facilities of the Cooperative.


      6. The nominal voltage supplied to a customer shall be 120 volts at 60 hertz.
